Fr. Edward P. Doran
In July 2014, Father Edward Doran was named Administrator of Assumption Parish. Father Edward P. Doran also serves as Pastor of our neighboring Parish - St. Charles Borromeo Parish since October 2008. In May 2013, he was appointed dean (vicar forane) of the Brooklyn 3rd Deanery, coordinating the activities of the parishes of northwestern and downtown Brooklyn.
Prior to being ordained a priest, Fr. Ed was a member of the Marist Brothers for 21 years. His previous postings include St. Francis Xavier in Brooklyn, as well as American Martyrs and St. Gerald Majella in Queens. Fr. Ed holds a Ph.D in counseling from St. John’s University, a B.S. in education from Marist College, and a Master’s degree in electrical engineering from Seton Hall University. In addition to his leadership of St. Charles, Fr. Ed is an adjunct professor at St. John’s University.
Fr. Joseph Gaspar D. Hugo
Fr. Joseph Gaspar Hugo serves as Parochial Vicar to both cooperating Parishes of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Charles Borromeo. Father comes to us from St. Patrick Church in Bay Ridge, and before that was at Immaculate Conception Parish in Long Island City. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Theology at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. While in his Diocese in the Philippines, he served as the Diocesan Youth Director. Father came to the United States in 2004. Welcome to Fr. Joseph Hugo!
